Sophia Cradle Releases Free BREW SDK Switching Tool with Multilingual Support

A tool to switch among many BREW development environments with only 1 click

Abstract

KYOTO — July 26, 2005 — Sophia Cradle Incorporated (Headquarter: Kyoto; CEO: Kazunori Sugiyama), an innovative developer of mobile phone software, today announced to release an updated version of its BREW SDK switching tool BREW SDK Switcher with support for multiple languages and BREW versions. The new version offers support for Chinese, Korean and Portuguese, besides Japanese and English that are already supported in the previous version. BREW versions that are supported with the new BREW SDK Switcher are 3.0 and 3.1. Free download of BREW SDK Switcher will be available at Sophia Cradle website from July 26 till the end of August.

The number of cell phones equipped with BREW [*1] has been increasing dramatically. BREW SDK [*2] has now multilingual support and is available in several versions, currently up to 3.1. In order to develop applications using different BREW versions in one computer, a programmer needs to manually change the BREW SDK.

Sophia Cradle's BREW SDK Switcher is a tool that helps you easily switch BREW environments with just one click. The new BREW SDK switcher supports Janpanese, English, Chinese, Korean and Portuguese. It also supports BREW 3.1 and the latest version of Microsoft Visual Studio.Net.

A user can download a compiled BREW application from the Internet and use it with any BREW-enabled handset. The worldwide spread of BREW is remarkable, and there are many network operators that provide BREW services, including Japan's KDDI which started offering them in February 2003. Recently, another Japanese network operator NTT DoCoMo has also started BREW services.
